Before Katrina, often great numbers of streetcars
would accumulate at and near this location, the traditional terminal
for the St. Charles Streetcar at S. Carrollton
Ave and S. Claiborne Ave. Restoration of service was still
expected to be months away when this
photo was taken in late 2007. The rails have a derelict look
about them, and only the left-hand track has overhead wiring in
place. |
