NEW ORLEANS STREETCAR
A Distant Downtown

Further out as the line progresses through the Mid-City neighborhood, Canal St., still very wide, becomes mostly residential, and is very much tree-lined.  The right of way here is on the grassy neutral ground, and resembles in some aspects that of much of the route of the St. Charles Streetcar.

This scene is near N. Carrollton Ave.  Some of the high-rises of downtown lurk in the background under a hazy February morning sky.
