The age of the once-Shaker Heights Rapid Transit system is demonstrated in this photo.  The route was built to four-track standards, and an elaborate station was constructed downtown under Cleveland's Union Terminal anticipating a much broader high-speed trolley and interurban network serving the metropolitan area and beyond.  But that was not to come to pass.
