WASHINGTON, DC HEAVY RAIL
Yellow Line, Huntington

This Yellow Line train is at its Huntington terminal in Fairfax County.  The route's other terminal is the only one on any line that is in the District of Columbia itself, at Fort Totten, where the Red Line crosses underneath.  The final nine stations north on the Yellow are shared with the Green.

Metro crosses the Potomac River along two different routes.  The Blue and Orange Lines share a tunnel between the Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom-GWU stations.  The Yellow Line takes a more direct route from the south over a much more direct bridge located not far from Amtrak's crossing of that historic waterway.
