University Circle, three stations east of the downtown
stop, is a major traffic generator for the Red Line. The large
campus of Case Western Reserve University is close by, and various
cultural venues and parks are not too far off. The rights of way
of competing railroads, Norfolk Southern and CSX (once Nickel Plate and
New York Central), are adjacent to the line here.
