Brook Park is one station away from the Airport end of the line. In a
very rare occurrence on heavy rail,
passengers must cross the Airport-bound track to get between the center
platform and the station. The operator of the outbound train
activates the crossing warning apparatus as he or she prepares to leave.
Not too far away a freight spur crosses the RTA rails; this also is
extremely unusual on the country's heavy rail lines. The busy trackage to the left has undergone a
significant number of ownership changes
since New York Central days. |
