BOSTON HEAVY RAIL
New Airport Station

Boston was the first city in the country to extend rapid transit service close to its main airport when service was extended in 1952 beyond Maverick to Orient Heights.  Then, as now, a free shuttle bus completes the trip to the airline terminal area.

In this 2002 view, construction for a new and slightly relocated Airport station was well underway.
