This photo is at
Powell St. in downtown San Francisco. Muni, with its array of
six light rail lines, is one level above in the subway. Above
that and on the surface, the F-line historic streetcar operates, and
there are trolley buses (and also the diesel kind). Nearby, the Powell St. cable
car terminates. It can't get too much better than this for the
urban transit fan.
Original BART construction began in 1964.
Passenger service under the Bay into San Francisco started in 1973. |
