Much of the newest BART route to the airport and to Millbrae
is
in subway -- the extensions were done at huge cost -- but near SFO itself
BART goes above-ground across a wetlands area. Two levels
allow for access from both north and south to the leg that serves the
airport.
The ground-level rails visible in this view belong to the Caltrain
commuter route.
